Puppy & Kitten Services
Early Veterinary Care for Puppy & Kitten Health
Bringing a new puppy or kitten home is an exciting and rewarding experience. Along with the joy of welcoming a new family member comes the responsibility of ensuring they receive the right care during their critical early months.
At Tournament Valley Veterinary Hospital, our veterinarians provide thorough health assessments, essential vaccinations, and parasite prevention to protect your pet from common illnesses.
We can also offer guidance on socialization, and general care, helping new pet owners feel confident while supporting the long-term health and development of their puppy or kitten.

Your Pet’s First Appointment
Our veterinarians recommend scheduling your puppy’s first appointment around six weeks of age and your kitten’s around eight weeks.
Examination & Diagnostics
At your pet’s first veterinary visit, our team will perform a thorough physical examination to evaluate overall health, identify any congenital conditions, and screen for internal and external parasites.
For kittens, we also perform blood testing to check for feline leukemia virus (FeLV) and feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV), helping ensure a healthy start to their life.
Parasite Prevention & Vaccinations
Deworming medications and the first round of puppy or kitten vaccinations will also be provided during this visit.
Follow-Up Appointments
Puppies and kittens typically need three to four veterinary visits between 6 and 16 weeks of age. These appointments allow our veterinarians to monitor their growth and development, provide necessary vaccinations, and ensure your new companion stays on a healthy path.
